Shenzhen Airport Air Freight Capacity Update — September 2026
Entering September, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport’s international air-freight capacity enters a “pre-holiday” adjustment period. Here’s AYC’s current read and restocking recommendations.
1. Capacity and rates
- Main US/EU lines (PVG-AMS / LAX / ORD): Direct space stable, small surcharges before mid-September; weekly +USD 0.5-1/kg from late September.
- Southeast Asia and Australia/NZ (PVG-BKK / SIN / SYD): Capacity loose, some lanes run promotions.
- Middle East and Africa: Steady rates, capacity ample.
2. New route this month
From September, a new Shenzhen–Mexico City dedicated freight service (China Southern B777F) operates three times per week, 3-5 days transit. This is a strong alternative to USWC lanes for FBA restocking from Guangzhou/Shenzhen to Mexico.
3. Mid-Autumn + National Day pre-holiday restocking
- Lock orders before Sep 25: pre-holiday capacity carries +USD 1-3/kg surcharge.
- Avoid Oct 1-7 (tightest capacity); Oct 10-15 clears well post-holiday.
- Urgent needs use international express (DHL / FedEx), 3-5 business days.
4. Specific advice for FBA sellers
| Transit required | Recommended channel | Indicative cost (incl. freight + fuel + last-mile) |
|---|---|---|
| 5-7 days | USWC fast vessel | ~USD 3.1/kg |
| 5-8 days | International air | ~USD 7.3-9/kg |
| 3-5 days | International express | ~USD 7.7-9.8/kg |
The above are indicative reference costs. Final pricing depends on cargo volume, type and destination — contact AYC sales.
